How to create a comfortable workspace at home

Whether you’re already in a Catalyst home or not, we know it’s important to use the space you have to create a comfortable working environment while working from home. That’s why we’ve come up with some top tips to make working from home that bit easier.

  1. Separate your working space from your living space.

When you’re looking at where to set up, it’s a good idea to create a distinct place for you to work, somewhere out of the way of where you would normally relax. Sometimes working from home can get in the way of your work life balance, so this is a great way to separate the two!

  1. Playlists and podcasts

To help break the silence, why not take some time to find a playlist to help you concentrate. Music can help us feel relaxed and happy and can therefore help us focus better. Or why not try some podcasts? These can be a great way to help motivate you.

  1. Office plants

While we need to stay indoors, keep yourself connected with nature and add some greenery to your workspace. This can be a great way to make your workspace feel comfortable and clean, plus they look pretty too! Plants are also a way to help you feel calm whilst working, which makes them the perfect touch to your new home office.

  1. Suitable chair

It’s a big deal! To make sure you’re comfortable in your new working environment, it’s important that you have a comfortable chair for working. A good chair will help reduce the amount of stress in your back muscles and improve your posture.

  1. To-do lists

It’s good to get into the habit of keeping a daily to-do list to make sure that you’re always on track. This will keep you focused on what needs to be done and keep track of deadlines! It’s easy to keep one of these online or you can write down your to-do’s in a notepad.
